Starfinder

What are people's thoughts on Starfinder?

I found it to be competently executed, but suffering from some fundamental design decisions that were... rough. I wrote more, but basically I hate trap options and the modifier arms race, and I'm pretty sure (not having really had a chance to fully explore it) Starfinder has mechanics designed to emphasize both.

I can't stand the d20 system so it's a no go for me. I thought I might have grown past my objection to it but a few years back my buddy wanted to play d20 Star Wars, I tried reading the rules but my brain rebelled. Every rule was just wrong, especially for the setting.

That's my opinion of course, but for some reason I can't even touch the system even when I want to for a friend.
