Hey all

I thought I would post this here. I have been trying to track down a game. I believe it was called the FAST RPG, it has a dead link on Chris's Compendium of RPGs. I am not even exactly sure it is the game I am looking for, I am looked at it once and thought thd simple mechanics to be interesting and I did not give it another thought until the other day when I went looking for it! The mechanics where based off of basic pools of d6s that where large or small depending on the character/creature.

As I said I am fuzz on all of it, so if anyone knows what the hell I am talking about and/or has a copy of this little system I would love to get a copy of it.

Thanks Jeff! However that was not it but it looks interesting and I intend on giving it a full read. After looking at the link you sent I did some more searching and did find what I was looking for! I was way off on several points It was not called Fast it was called UNIVERSAL. Also it does use d6s but not the shloads that I remembered it did.

Alas I guess I have envisioned a new mechanic then and will have to go about creating it.

Hi. oversoul, is this the RPG you're talking about?

Sorry if I've just made a mistake: I'm new, young, and incompetent.

P.S. Monsters and Mazes is my favorite game; I'm surprised that someone mentioned it here. Most people seem not to like it.

Monsters and Mazes Rocks!

Postby Relentless96 » Wed Apr 04, 2007 11:04 pm

I am happy that someone else has played it. I loved the way that everything was randomly generated, it allowed for some quirky stuff. The best way to play is to randomise as you play. With practice, it doesn't slow play, plus it keeps you on your toes when it comes to describing the action.
One of my favourites was when the players met a friendly high level knight who lived in the dungeon. He told the players there were many more levels infested with creatures. However, the dungeon only went down one more level, with the only fight being against a bunch of half-giants with pitchforks in a stable. It was almost comedic when one half-giant threw theirs at the party ranger with his low hitpoints and impaled him in the hay.

But, yeah, Monsters and Mazes is cool :)
