I've thought of an idea for a role-playing game. I'm not sure if it'll be good, but it is worth a shot.
I do have some questions:
1. What type of systems and features are usually in a tabletop RPG?
This includes gamplay and setting features. I don't want to forget to include anything that might help the setting, so please suggest something.
Even the obvious, as I might overlook things.
2. Would having one GM and one player be okay, or would that detract from the quality of the game?
3. How much detail should there be? Should it explain the bare essentials, or should it have flavor to it?
4. Should I have it reviewed before submitting it to any website or contests? And what is the safest bet?
5. On a side note, where I can find contests to submit the idea, if I finish it? It can't be a time based contest, or one requiring specific features, as I already have the idea mostly work out. I'm looking for contests like "best of the ___" or "most ___".
Any idea where I can find a list or posting of those types of contests?
Thanks for any help given.
