Got some clarifying questions/suggestions.
First, just to make sure I got this right...when trying to succeed at something, you take your Power, add 1d4, apply modifiers (if any) and then compare the result to the given difficulty. If the result is greater than the difficulty, you succeed. If its equal or less, you fail. Right?
If so, the given difficulties still seem wicked easy overall. Is this intentional? What if while the player rolls their d4 to add to their Power, the GM rolls a d4 to add to the base difficulty of the task?
For example, a StickGuy with a Power of 3 is trying to do something that has a difficulty of 3. The StickGuy rolls a 2 for a Power total of 5, while the GM rolls a 3 for a difficulty total of 6. The StickGuy fails this time around. Well, just a suggestion for discussion's sake if nothing else.
Now then - combat. I get the part about drawing what you're doing in secret instead of declaring it. It's the "their action is resolved" part that I'm a bit fuzzy on. If I drew that my StickGuy A (Power 3) was going to kick Stick Guy B (Power 2), does (1) the kick just happen unless Stick Guy B spends Karma? Or (2) do I have to make a Power roll against a difficulty to see if it happens successfully? Or (3) do both StickGuys make a Power roll to see who gets a higher result? I'm leaning toward option 3, but I'm just not sure.
