Thanks for the compliments on The Creature Of Murky County RPG, Jeff. Not only did I get to make a fun game, but I also got to make a game that was based off a movie from a Mystery Science Theater 3000 show, which I've always wanted to do. This has been a fun challenge, and I've enjoyed all the entries so far, including Taking, which I just downloaded thanks to your link.
'Taking' is excellent, Tad. A very functional yet simple system, and what I really like is the interesting horror world the game takes place in. I like the modular approach as well.
I think what I've liked most about the character sheet rpg's is that they each create their own worlds in the space of one page. The minimal rules set out the dynamic within the world of the rpg and help define it as well.
I've also enjoyed how easy and quick it is to make a character sheet rpg. I couldn't help create one more called 'Treason Season', which I have sent in to 1km1kt so it will probably be posted soon. I wanted to see if I could make a game like Paranoia, but in one page. Instead of a dysfunctional futuristic Big Brother type setting, I instead decided to create a world in which today's political climate is taken to it's fictional extreme. I ended up liking the game a lot. Though it is a much simpler system than The Creature Of Murky County was (and that was pretty simple), Treason Season has a little more complex of a challenge, as the character's attributes are assigned by the player rather than determined randomly, and, like Paranoia, the dark world of the game is tough to survive in. I'll post a link when it's up.

Cool. A bunch of new RPGs popped up on 1km1kt, including my latest chracter sheet RPG 'Treason Season'. Here's the link:

Hope you enjoy the game. I certainly enjoyed making it. My only wish is that I had a slightly better program to make character sheets with (Hex and RPG are top notch). Any suggestions?

I just read the beginning of the thread. The idea is great. I always hated those useless panels covering the GM with no useful information. Even in a conventional RPG it would be great if the rules for the players would be on the character sheet. It's just great. Hm. It's simple. It's perfect. Thanks for the idea. :)

Thank you both Jeff and Erin for the kind comments...Yeah tried to do a ton of stuff into a single page is so tough for me...But then again I am a poetry / short story writer so I should be able to handle it.

I sent it in for formal submission, and time to think of a second setting so I can have more options (Double) of what there is for Angle.....Any requests that are feasible :)

At least

Postby tadk » Thu Sep 21, 2006 1:47 pm

At least it was not Zombies...i personally have no interest and the last time i asked for suggestions for a 24 hour rpg all i got was zombies.....Space Opera it shall be...cleaning tonight, company tomorrow, not sure when i will start it..but should be easy enough to do in under 24 hours since the top section stays the same, the middle with options and bottom with specifics is what changes...

Thanks

Terror Town RPG

Postby ErrinF » Fri Sep 29, 2006 11:56 am

I was able to make one more character sheet RPG, this time a survival horror game called 'Terror Town':

It's inspired by the movie/game 'Silent Hill'. I got the notion of making a survival horror game after reading Tad's game 'Taking', which created a very interesting world within the space of one page (I especially liked the monsters Tad came up with). Like my other character sheet RPGs, I ended up enjoying the creation of this one a lot. This has been an excellent challenge and I'm glad I've been able to contribute more than I expected.
