He likes to stay hidden. It's a little known fact that Keeton's Star is the lynchpin of galactic order and commerce. It's just that few people realize it plays a key role in shoring up the Mimisbrunnr system from the ecological loss that would occur if Purgatoire had a slightly easier time getting there. The "Pirates" of Keeton's Star are there to slow the decline.

Of course if Mimirsbrunnr collapsed, I don't even need to tell you what would happen to Kaikias.

Nice one Emmett! -- I should probably add - since this is only a crop of the larger map - that every square is 200x200 light-years. State-of-the art hyperdrives need 1-2h per lightyear. Consequently, only systems that are among the most notable will appear at this scale.
