If you want to read a(nother) gaming blog, check me out!

because there's always room for one more blog out there! Right! Right? I hope so because I started one a month back, and I've been having a great time writing it, and an even better time watching it grow from something my mates read, to something that complete strangers were spending hours talking about in the comments thread. It also led me to a bunch of blogs that have been great fun to read, and now here.

If you fancy taking a swing over and checking out what I have to say, and I can promise that I will never do a blow by blow account of a game I'm in that none of the rest of you are, then check out the and see what you think.

Welcome to 1km1kt.net!

The blog looks a little sparse, but the articles are very good. Would you care to enlighten us a bit on some of the content you hope to host in the future? What is your taste in gaming, and do you have any notable designs in the works? I know you dropped by my blog for a bit (thanks for the comment). if there is anything else you want to ask, we have a forum here for that.

Enjoy your stay and happy gaming.
Games of imagination are never truly done. Yet tomorrow we shall start another one.

my new RPG blog.

Cheers Mr Aardvark! Only just started a month back so I don't have piles of posts just yet. I have a post due next week that's going to touch on what people should expect coming up, but when it comes to future content, for now all I can really promise is more gaming related writing. I tried my hand at games design once, and was at least fortunate to realise that i'm not very good at it. I think I'll leave that to brighter minds than my own. I mainly ended up here because of all the awesome free stuff!

A few things I do know about though are playing and GMing, so most posts will be advice and discussions on how to get the most out of whichever side of the screen you sit.

As for types of games I play, and what tastes I have, pretty much anything I can get my hands on, or get the chance to play. At the moment I'm doing more GMing than playing, but who knows how long that'll last. When I run, I love investigative games that give my players a whole lot of time to sit and talk in character; some of my best sessions as a GM have involved me saying half a dozen words over the course of an hour, and just watching my players play. As a player, I tend towards talky characters who can con their way out of problems and into money.

The appearance of the blog is a bit of a problem at the moment, but I just need to figure out what you can do with Wordpress before I try anything too fancy.

If anyone has any other questions, please ask away. I can only make this work if people like what they see.

I have been giving this some thought since I joined the site; what can I provide for others to consume? See above as to why I won't be creating any games, but I am a very experienced GM who creates his won adventures every time (unless specifically trying out a free sampler that comes with an attached adventure), so why not write adventures? I guess I need to know a bit more about how they're structured for people to use them. Anyone have any ideas, or hints about websites that could lend a hand?

When I write my own adventures, a hell of a lot of it stays in my head and never makes to a written page, as I like to be able to modify and ret-con at times. This kind of thing would be a problem for other people reading it I would imagine...

That would be a cool project to take up. Yeah, I have the same problem when trying to write down an adventure that I usually would just make up as I went. All I can offer is and maybe you can mine them for ideas. Still I can't tell you they're really good examples.

If you do learn some tips and tricks please share them!

Until I get my head round how to write an adventure that other people would want to read, I'm going to keep blogging each Monday, as it gives me practice at writing and I can at least share some about how I approach creating adventures.

Thanks for the add!

I'd say I'd add you, but since I hit your website daily anyway, it seems a bit redundant. I really do wish I had the time to check out all the free games that I find dotted around the web, but I promise, I'll keep trying!

I recently entered a wee little writing contest over at using some bad guys that made an appearance in one of my games, and it got me thinking that I knew that adventure backwards with very little in the way of notes for it having spent a very long time thinking about it and almost as long running it. I think if I was ever going to get something written down, it would be a write up of that adventure that would let other people run it.

Quick question first, and I will probably open this up to another forum thread for a wider audience. Since the game i used was not very well known, should I worry about system or try to design something modular? Something tells me the modular route would be harder, especially considering it was originally designed for a specific system, but it would make it a bit more accessible to others who don't play Unhallowed Metropolis.
