A Childish Attempt

Postby Penbot 2004 » Thu Feb 03, 2005 3:19 pm

I wrote this little rules system a week ago. Many ideas where left out of the first version. I guess I got the idea from children's books? Adventures like Peter Pan and Where the Wild Things Are. I didn't want to be accused of promoteing violence for children. But I really like the idea of colanders as helmets! This may be due to my continuely washing dishes by hand?

I've been makeing some notes of the things I intend to add to the game soon. But still haven't gotten to play-test the rules. I need to remember to design a character record sheet. This will go along with the new "characteristics" that will be added, size and age. A magic class and skills will be added. Eventually the races will be expanded too. I think the game will eventually need to leave it's 1 die abeliety rolls behind too.

I gotta take off and go wash dishes, so back to the drawing board!?

thanks to who ever converted my game to pdf! uh, andy, er ah, Keeton? Thanks to who ever did it!

I guess you are all working on that silly Mech game? Oddly enough, my first 24 concept was to be a Mech or 'bot game. I'll be posting another character to the Templar system soon. And changeing my signature. Aren't ya glad? Tater salad maybe my hero but I don't think he's 1km1kt -type humor?

Ah yes, gotta make the ACA character record sheet and add the age and other new rules. Isn't it tax day now? lol

later! Pen'bot 2004

Time to make a few adjustments to A.C.A. first edition.

The "Combat" section has the following typo; "A d6 is the suggest attack die but may be replaced with a d10 should the players choose." The word "suggest" should be replaced by "suggested."

Here are a few up dates to the system so far.

Age: Characters should be between the human ages of 6 to 12 years.
Players may choose to start at age 6 or determine the age randomly. To
determine randomly, roll one d4 & add two to the dice result.
The characters in A.C.A. should advance in age until the reach 13
years. At 13, or upon reaching the equlivent experience of a 13 year
old, the character/s must retire from childish play. For the sake of
simplicity, characters will advance in age or experience for every 5 or
10 combat victories. 5 combat victories if fighting other player
characters or 10 combat successes in an adventure.

A short Bow: charcters may craft a bow. The bow will receive -1 on
combat rolls but will inflict 1d4+1 dammage.

Races: The suggested racial classes for A.C.A. are Dwarf, Gnome, Halfling, Human, half-orc, Goblin or Kobold.

I'll keep you all posted, P'b 04
