Charlatan - submitted, unfinished

Postby Munkholt » Thu Aug 04, 2005 3:47 pm

In one hour I'm starting my 24 Hour RPG. I would have started tomorrow at noon, but I had forgotten a wedding on Saturday (isn't that nice ...).

Well, just means I'll have to be more focussed. I'll start the clock an hour from now. The next hour I'll spend cleaning my desk and trying to come up with an idea.

Charlatan

Postby Munkholt » Thu Aug 04, 2005 5:01 pm

Okay, one minute to go, here's my game:

Charlatan
The game takes place in an Enlightenment-inspired period. Players take the role of a traveling charlatan (á la Casanova or Cagliostro) arriving at some court or other. Seduction, dueling, forgery, power games, hedonism, a narrow escape - these are important elements of the game. Has an adventurous feel to it - doesn’t need to be too specific about period and people, the players can just make up courts and countries as they go along. Fun and competitive. I hope!

Local time: 01.03AM. Go!

*

This is my other idea, which I'll have to give a shot some other time:

The Truth
Inspired by Franz Kafka (The Trial and the Castle). A Kafkaesque game of deceit, treason, bureaucracy, trials and secret opposition. The players are members of the opposition, fighting the brutal regime. But who can they trust? Let alone love? Needs a setting - a fascist regime to fight and hate. The psychology here is a bit more complex. But it’s dark and moody and if it works, paranoid as hell.

Local time: 00.50AM, stop.

Well, that's it. I finished the challenge - ran out of time before the game was done. But I don't feel too bad about it; I feel I gave it a fair shot, and I am quite happy with the discipline that I put into the effort. I liked the game more and more as it came along, but unfortunately, the ideas that developed from writing weren't supported in the first part. So, as it stands, it's quite broken. But there's enough that I might want to go back and finish it at a later date.

You can see the result .

Charlatan
Travel the courts of Europe, seeking fame and glory, fighting sceptics and competitors. You sir, are a charlatan. But this is no petty game of scams and lies, but of wonder, inspiration and myths in the making.

Charlatan was inspired by men such as Casanova, Cagliostro, Rasputin, as well as Anastasia, the last Romanoff.

Benefits of Becoming a Member

Postby KevinFlys » Mon Jun 02, 2008 8:58 pm

Can you simply tell if is a great game or not without you becoming a member? The answer to that would be, NO! Well you can make a few predictions about and see the moral of the game when being a regular user and not a member but becoming a member brings a whole lot of additions to Runescape that you would never see if you were not a member. Being a member of has so many benefits and I will try to list them all here for you. Runescape tells you them, but I'm going to detail it a few features for you here.

We were having sex, and I knew I was ready to try again. The best tip I got was to have him penetrate a bit, wait and relax, then a bit more etc... Deep breathing was also very helpful. He followed my every instruction, and I think a respectful partner is paramount here.

"That's close enough," she said casually, "I never buy anything unless I test it for myself." He handed her the garment and waited for her to get up and leave the room to change, but to his utter disbelief, she calmly took off her blouse and removed her white satin bra as if he wasn't even there. He tried to keep quiet and act nonchalant, but as her huge mammaries fell into view, he made a loud audible gasp at the sight of her incredible melons. "Mr. Raye," she admonished, "I'd like to think you've seen lingerie models before." "I-I have," he barely croaked, "you just surprised me that's all. "How would I measure up to the other models you've seen," she asked seriously. He didn't even have to lie, when he replied, "I've never seen anyone who could hold a candle to you, you really do the product justice." "Why thank you, Mr. Raye," she said gratefully, "so, how do I look."
