[Entry] The Exploration, Discovery, and Research Committee

Postby Ben Lehman » Sat Mar 11, 2006 11:26 pm

Long ago, the wonderous civilization of the ancients passed away. In their place, they made in mysterious craft of steel and glass and the people. No one knows why the ancients made the people, or why they passed away, but that doesn't mean that they don't want to find out.

In the first session, the players play members of the famous exploration, discovery and research committee, a powerful body that reports to the High Senate about the findings of things ancient and unknown. Today, the committee is debating an important issue! A great city of the ancients has been discovered beneath the northern sea. The committee will debate the structure of the exploratory team, the laws that it will operate under, and its exact mandate for six hours (longer debate is prohibited by parlimentary rules.)

In the intervening two weeks, the senators and explorers will make their preperations in public and in private, seeking the help the expedition and their own agendas.

In the second session, the members of the exploratory team make their way through the ruins.

Time: 2x6
Ingredients: Ancient, Committee, Glass, Emotion, Steel, Team, Law

Not sure if I'm going to finish this, yet.

Great minds thinking alike and at almost the exact same time, Ben. Weird.

I can see the second session taking six hours - but how are you going to make the first session interesting for that long? It seems to be a sort of setting-and-character-and-dramatic-structure-generation session, is that about right?

Hey --

Sadly, too much stuff to do. I now know how I would do the game but it is too complicated to design in a week. So, adieu.
