Just throwing an idea into the mix...

How about making qualification as a judge dependant upon reviewing a cirtain number of games to a particular standard after the contest?

So, you would need to write the standard, and have several volunteers in advance set to judge the review standard. When the chef competition is done, then the competition to see who gets to be judge begins. It has been proposed before on the 24 hour thing in jest, but why not have a competition to see who is going to be the judges?

PS the lack of Delta next year would discourage me from taking part. Not saying that I wouldn't take part, just that I would be discouraged. I found Delta's work as judge and reviewer one of the clear highlights of the competition.

I thank you for your kind words but, really, I didn't enjoy it so I'm not going to do it next year. I expect I will enter instead. These responses make me feel like I'm attention-whoring / fishing-for-compliments - I wasn't so, please, if you want to tell me I'm great take it to PM.

Incidently, what happened to the Judge feedback thread? I can't see it anymore?

I think the judging thread became unsticky so is somewhere in the depths, based on the timing of the last coment on it. Seen that happen before to other unstuck things.

Actually mine was more of a guilt attack than a love-in, but your take is nicer...

PS since this is a feedback thread and I missed saying this before, as far as I am concerned the top highlight was Judge Gamma's well thought out and expansive comments. They rate above even the peer reviews etc, in my mind. But that is just me.
