Thanks to the reviewers for pointing out that it's impossible to get a feel for the game without playing it. I should definitely have put in more examples of play, but chose instead to lie awake at night thinking about the mechanics

There definitely is some emergent behavior in CtBisf, especially wrt how narration turns out to be limited & guided by tactical choices. Hope the pdf makes it clearer.
And it clearly isn't an RPG; it's a game of competitive narration, which I'm getting to like more and more after being nonplussed and annoyed after trying to play . (Which I believe is probably a great game if you take away the superhero stuff, but I'm having a hard time finding players for it).
