Looking for a "Stats Person"

Postby Andy K » Wed Mar 22, 2006 2:25 pm

Hey all, something I was thinking: There's a lot of discussion on and other sites/blogs regarding popular time/ingredient usage.

I was wondering if someone would like to step up (there's plenty of time, looking for this just anytime in the next few weeks), go through the figures on the following, and post the stats data on them:

Breakdown by Numbers (of submitted games), then Percentage, of the time constraint used.

Breakdown by Numbers then Percentage of the ingredients used.

Breakdown by Numbers of all Ingredient Combos used (ie "Steel Team Law: 3, Actor Team Law: 2, ..." etc)

I'm just wondering. It'd make a great report, I'd think.

Anyone have interest in compiling this?

If you haven't got a taker already, I'd be happy to work something up. Let me know if I'm on deck and I'll try to get it put together over the weekend.

Cheers,

Thanks Eric, you're on!

And BTW, no rush. Take your time, as much as you need.

Andy:

Aside from idle curiosity, why?

Anyway, as I have minions at work that must do my bidding, I made them do it. In some circumstances of people refusing to "pick a creative hole and fuck it" (meaning that they used many many ingredients, or, in the case of TAPAS, just plain refused time constraints), my minions used the first three ingredients appearing in the text, and I selected 3 sessions of 3 hours for TAPAS.

1 session, 2 hrs: 17 (27.87%)
10 sessions, 1 hrs: 14 (22.95%)
4 sessions, 2 hrs: 10 (16.93%)
2 sessions, 6 hrs (2 weeks intervening): 4 (6.56%)
Infinite sessions, 8 hrs: 8 (13.11%)
3 sessions, 3 hrs: 8 (13.11%)

Ingredients:
Emotion: 32 (17.49%)
Glass: 32 (17.49%)
Ancient: 28 (15.3%)
Committee: 28 (15.3%)
Law: 17 (9.29%)
Actor: 10 (5.46%)
Team: 21 (11.48%)
Steel: 15 (8.2%)

Combos:
Ancient/Emotion/Glass: 12 (19.67%)
Committee/Emotion/Glass: 12 (19.67%)
Ancient/Committee/Emotion: 8 (13.11%)
Ancient/Committee/Glass: 8 (13.11%)
Actor/Law/Team: 6 (9.84%)
Law/Steel/Team: 11 (18.03%)
Actor/Steel/Team: 4 (6.56%)
Actor/Law/Steel: Not Used (0/0%)
