Rail Fighters

Postby DOC_Agren » Mon May 03, 2010 10:57 am

Okay Rob, we have another question.

Does a Rail Fighter force -Soul to enemies Init roll even if the other guy has Rail Fighting Skill? Or does the higher rail fighter not take the Init penality?

What about if the Init roll is still in combat but non melee combat but ranged?

Excellent question!

The Soul check is really because rail fighters stance, pose and flair make them hold back for a second. When applying it, it's only for those in close combat. If facing up against someone else with rail fighting then do not use it. The fact that you're a Rail Fighter isn't going to scare another Rail Fighter and no jiggling around or snarling is going to scare them (unless you're gnawing on a leg of your previous opponent but then that's a normal Soul roll required!).

Thanks Rob that was what we thought after we started thinking about but we wanted to make sure.

Never thought about gnawing on a leg of my previous opponent in ICAR, after all I'm not playing Orc, Ogre, a Half breed, or my Dwarf Battlerager

Glad you picked that solution, I like to think that common sense prevails.

As for cannibalism, you might be playing a slightly deranged character with a taste for human.

In Version 4, I've expanded the GM description for Dess-Kay-Dar so that there is a little more for the GM to work with. :)

No problem! I can post one up. However, it should be noted that this might not be affect your current campaign. If randolph is keen to take the new information on board than that's cool but it really is up to him. :)
