Yes, you've got it. A single gunner will have a number of gun clusters and it automatically switches between them. By having multiple gunners, you're really saying that you have multiple sets of gun clusters. There's a little bit of simplification here but then you have to do that or go down a detail rabbit hole that isn't much fun.
