true, but the point of the game is silly randomness. While its a legitamit complant, its kind of like complaning that a cyberpunk game is too violent and deadly. While true, it is half the point to the setting.

But I want to decide to do silly random stuff. I think a balance must be struck between randomness and having a character that can actually succeed in an action. Failing in just about every combat isn't much fun - but that's what will happen. Instead of engaging in cow punching, sheep kicking, chicken slapping or pig headbutting, I'll end up avoiding combat because my character is useless at it. Not just bad - useless!
I think what we're saying is...use the old Unskilled rolls but make any part that gives combat ablities give the skill as well. cause I see your point but the "parts with great bonuses that I need xp to use" thing was by design.
