Introductory Game - The Artifact

Ever since Rob reviewed The Artifact I was trying to come up with a game that would be a good introduction to the game. I think I have one now and I'd like to test it out. Unfortunately my playtesters are all already introduced to the game so I don't think they're a good test group for this. Actually I'm doing a lot of new stuff that we haven't played with either so they're all excited about it too still they're already tainted.

So here's a shout out to 1KM1KT! Do you wanna play?

To get started you'll need a character, I figure there's three ways we can do this.
1. Head over to and read up on making a character and then make one up on the topic here.
2. Read up on making characters and then make one on paper and then post the stats here.
3. I can make a character for you if you want to play but don't feel like doing it for yourself.

Rules if you're making a character, this game will be limited to only ASO characters with the added restriction of no SAA (they just don't fit this story) and the MP doesn't exactly fit but can work. They're the first character group (page 10-14). Don't forget the optional tables for the ASO on page 27.

Oh, and if you don't feel like learning another system, don't worry thats the point of this game. I'll do my best to intro the story and the game without you having to learn much other than how the character sheet works.

I haven't had much luck with face-to-face play testing, so I was planning on trying something similar to this eventually. If you don't mind, I'll join in yours to see how these things go. Here is the first draft of my character:

As you can see, lady luck didn't favor Zvika (3x 1s, 3x 2s). I rather wanted to use the optional rules for limitations to raise some of those 10s under attributes, but I wasn't sure if that was allowed for this test and how that worked. (Does a limitation give +20 to one attribute, or 20 points to distribute amongst all of them?)

I made a number of observations about the skill system/character creation - would you like me to share my complaints and suggestions in this topic, create a new one, or post them elsewhere?

Thanks for the link fix. I'll give the character gen a skim over now and see if it catches me.
