Here is a little tidbit you might not have known. The new movie called "Team America" is a movie done using marrionette puppets. It is done by the guys made South Park. The funny thing is that it was given a NC-17 rating before they argued it down to a R rating. I think that it will be funny to see a bunch of puppets swearing and blowing things up.
I had a chance to see an advance screening of the movie Ladder 49.
I thought it was pretty good. To those who are concerned that this is Backdraft 2, let me alay your fears and tell you that it is not. For those who do not like movies that are told through flash back -- you're not going to like this movie. The movie relies heavily on flashback to tell you the story of Joaquin Phoenix's character and his career with the Baltimore City fire department. John Travolta plays the captain of the fire house and actually does a pretty good job.
I had some issues with the story (but then again I tend to have issues with movies -- I guess I just expect too much) and with the filmogrophy but all in all I would recommend the film to others. My major complaint is that they tried to cover too much in the movie (through flashback it tries to cover about 10 - 12 years of Phoenix's career).
When the movie comes out I will expound more on what I liked and didn't like, but I will wait. I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone.
I finally broke down an watched Garden State because everyone was raving about it. I have to admit that I really liked it. I thought that it was hilarious and I would recommend it to anyone.
I recently watched The Forgotten and I have to say that I was pleasantly suprised. I initially thought that is was going to be another government conspiracy movie because of the trailer but was suprised by the plot twist in the film. I know that everyone I have talked has enjoyed it and most are comparing it to the 6th Sense.
Everyone can rest easier now, the cast of Italian Job has reunited for the sequel. Filming to begin early next year.
According to the website I use for Fox information these are the materials that will eventually be available for Episode 3 for those of you who actually care:
Teaser trailer
Teaser one-sheet
Teaser banner
Final trailer
Final one-sheet
Bus shelter
So basically, the usual.
Rumor still is that the teaser trailer will debut on THE INCREDIBLES, which opens Nov. 5. However, Lucas has said he will make it available online to his Hyperspace members first. In otherwords, there will be plenty of illegal copies online before The Incredibles hits theaters.
I didn't know there was someone from the UK on here, how exciting!
