Remind us of your pledge...
Pledged (to myself) to finish my house ruled version of the old (MEGs) DC heroes game. 2d10, tables, APs that double with every point. Also pledged to combine Basic D&D and T&T into one game. Been meaning to finish this for a year or more.

What progress have you made toward it?
So far I've ditched the tables, come up with a completely new hero point mechanic which gives the player a resource to manage and works quite well in playtesting (thus far), called the APs Measurement Points (MPs) and APS stands for Abilities/Powers/Skills. In other words what started out as a house ruled DC Heroes is turning out to be something else. The fantasy BD&D/T&T will be concentrated on after the heroes game is finished.

How are you maintaining your pace on your project?
Running a play test on my play by post forum and adding new rules as I go. Picking up the writing when I get a spare moment on laptop.

Have you hit any problems?
Time mostly. With 2 young kids, work and nagging wife, real life presents more of a challenge than can easily be overcome by stat+skill+2d10 vs target number (doubles explode, like my temper at times). After days of having to leave it sometimes it's hard to get back in it.

How do you plan to overcome your problems?
Alter time, speed up the harvest or teleport me off this rock (for some peace and quiet).

Are there any problems you can see coming up that might stop you?
Motivation. I always seem to hit a block with regards motivation at some point. Hoping I can push through it. I might try hand writing the project rather than typing it. I always seemed to have better luck with finishing games when I was younger that way.

What is the % probability that you will complete your task?
Optimistic? 100%. Realistic? 50%. I'm up to the combat section (having done the core mechanics section) which means the biggy is after that - character creation (with stacks of powers to describe) might be quite good fun and something to look forward to or a real grind. Combat should be a breeze. Famous last words...

Update Time!

Remind us of your pledge...
Stop blogging so much and make some real progress toward getting books that I want to get done, done and out the door.

What progress have you made toward it?
Last time I talked about using a tablet to do my art on. I got mine a bit ago and I'm really liking it. I was going to try making one but then saw an old Fujitsu on ebay. It works really well so far. I'm quite happy with it.

I'm supposed to have the Tortuga sourcebook done. I do have it done as far as writing is concerned, but it needs to be edited and there are some big white blanks in the layout that I should fill in with more art. My editor (the wifey) got started on it and then a bunch of things went kablooey. They've calmed down now so I can start tightening the thumb screws again.

How are you maintaining your pace on your project?
I'm starting to pick up the pace a bit. I finished some pretty hairy tasks that I had and I'm enjoying drawing again. One new thing I'm doing is to write a story for each of the new pictures I'm doing for SPF and put it up on the blog.

Running the PBP game with ES and JK did a lot to keep my enthusiasm up and keep me thinking about how things should be done.

Have you hit any problems?
Life jumps in the way, I swerve into the ditch. Rinse repeat. Actually for the moment I'm making some progress and it feels pretty good.

How do you plan to overcome your problems?
I'm recharging for setting up another game for SPF. I'd really like to implement JK's suggestion of having the players write out their actions in natural language and then I'll do the crunching. I'm trying to do a picture a day but I'm letting myself be squishy on that deadline because I don't want to burn out.

Are there any problems you can see coming up that might stop you?
Not that I see and thats what scares me. I know there will be problems and I like to see them coming.

What is the % probability that you will complete your task? (Highly scientific, I know)
60%.

Wow... I've been gone so long the system *forgot* me.

While I wasn't here, I did start a Project in about February... so let me talk about that and pretend I made a pledge in January. :D

Remind us of your pledge...
My current pledge is to finish the Project "Flow" (Working Title)

What progress have you made toward it?
I've actually named my races now, and I think I have a Conflict System ready to be fleshed out. The setting slowly is starting to fill out, and the roster of Bad Things is starting to fill out.

How are you maintaining your pace on your project?
I use my Dreamwidth to post at least once or twice a week all the ideas that I generate for the game, and so I can find them all easy when I go to compile.

Have you hit any problems?
Well, for a long time, I was systemless! I just was world building, and now I have half a system, but it doesn't exactly fit all the pieces I want in the game. It's still a WIP, but at least I know now what I want "Combat" or what I am calling "Conflict" to look like. My real big obstacle is trying to achieve the kinds of movie action sequences that I like, within a community that is very used to combat being the ultimate solution to everything.

How do you plan to overcome your problems?
Currently working on the system I am going to use. I plan on using a customized Deck Action system, as kind of a hybrid between three or four systems. This does open up new problems in the way of wanting magic to work, but I'm working on that.

Are there any problems you can see coming up that might stop you?
Lack of Playgroup with me to test and more "Real Life" issues might be slowing down my progress, but I should have more than Bare Bones ready probably in a few months.

What is the % probability that you will complete your task? (Highly scientific, I know)
... about 70%. I like my setting I'm building, and even if I have to hack it onto a system and throw out my personal one, I'll get this out there.
