Took me awhile to come back and do the update

Vance looks over to Alex and yells out, "What the hell was that?"

I like those changes, I think they do some very nice things.

As Alex and Vance try and figure out what just happened . . .

"Daddy . . ." the static cut transmission cuts through their comms again, " . . . Dad..y . . . whe..e a.... y...."

Vance watches as Alex's face goes white . . . he knows that soft voice.

[Onix]

"J. . . Jessie? Is that you sweetie?" Alex is frozen, dumbfounded, by the sound of his daughter. He instinctively looks around the room, wondering where the voice on the radio is coming from.

Alex looks at his comm system and tries to pull up as much information about the broadcast as he can but the system is woefully inadequate for his needs.

He looks at Vance. "That's my daughter's voice, what the. . . We're on the dark side of the moon! Unless they're looking for us and sent the signal through the station, I don't know how else we could be getting a signal."

Alex's arms and legs are like lead. He tries his comm again, "Jessie, are you there? Is anyone there? We're stranded in the shuttle, it's been sabotaged. . . " He trails off. Turns to Vance "Wait, do you think someone might be sending that to mess with us? No, it doesn't mean anything to you, someone's messing with me! Could my wife have. . . no, she's not that crazy. But what if she paid someone. She'll get my life insurance payment! Oh, crud, I wish I could check the bank account right now." Alex's head spins at the thoughts going through it. "Whoever she hired is really good! Vance. . . if there were any way I could get away from you I would, cause they're after me, you're in danger."

I can honestly say "I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!"

[Onix]

I started typing and the ideas just kept coming. You don't have to go in that direction, Alex could be just paranoid and operating out of his own limited perspective. Or maybe his wife is out to get him killed, I guess I'll have to find out.

Vance shook his head, "What the hell are you talking about? Of course someone is messing with us -- I mean you. Hell! Look, something is up, and if we don't work together we're both going to die. Right now no matter what the hell is going on, our survival rate only goes up if we work together. Now see that station?" Vance points towards the relay station, "That's the goal, we'll worry about whatever that message was when we don't have to immediately worry about death."

"Focus, we're going to make our jump. Knees bent, push off and use the propellant to get us where we need to go."

I'm going to spend a MAP and PEP, one to be the physical force and the other to be the leader that Vance really isn't, but right now is freaking out a little that Alex is freaking out.

Alex tries to reconcile the two needs he has. One to get Vance out of harm's way and the other to get back to his daughter.

"I guess you're right but at the first chance, you've got to get yourself as far from me as possible. I don't need anyone else getting killed and I don't need getting killed." Alex says.

Alex will spend a PEP in the jump (I'm out of MAP)
