Hey thanks, everybody.

There's an that inspired the design of this game - I tried to teach a dozen pre-teens how to play D&D 3.5 and it turned into this insane bizarro world where they taught *me* what was fun and cool and threw out all the D&D crap that got in the way - one girl picked "angel" as her character's race, another guy had a chaotic/lawful character whose class was "king". It rocked so hard I was astonished, and took what I learned and immediately wrote Dungeon Squad.

BTW I've added a noncommercial/sharealike Creative Commons license to the game, so absolutely feel free to build on it and use it. It is already being translated into Danish and Swedish!

Alternate Dungeon Squad submitted

Postby bal3000 » Fri Jul 22, 2005 7:54 am

I've just submited an expanded rules set called Alternate Dungeon Squad to 1km1kt with Jason's blessing. ( big , big , BIG thank you, Jason ).

It's takes the simple and flexible DS rules and stretches them for more experienced players .I can easily see these rules covering a variety of genres and styles. This is just the start.

Hope you like it.

DS inspired gaming continues to mutate in my world.
i've just posted PSYCHIC WARRIOR.
it takes DS and my Alternate DS rules into what can best be described as a " Mad Max meets Darth Vader in Gamma World with the Psionic handbook on hand ".
I did warn this was just a start.

I am finally going to put my money where my mouth is and put Dungeon Squad to the test in a one-shot I am running tomorrow night. I needed something quick, easy to teach that would have us playing right away. I wanted rules that wouldn't get in the way of fun. So I chose Dungeon Squad. The fact that I was able to create 5 pre-gen characters to bring to the table in under 5 minutes didn't hurt either.
