~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would like a way to give every player a chance to determine a plan, and then the player who created the highest-earning (i.e. flat out, over-the-top worst of those plans) is charged with making the last plan (with, one assumes, the active cooperation of the rest of the group) that sees whether they get the treasure or return home in disgrace.
Would it be crazy to actually put people on a timer?
As for the plan, you might allocate a very specific amount of time [i.e. 2 minutes] for everyone to scribble their plan on paper, then take a consensus.
As for putting people on a timer; tournament chess comes to mind. Perhaps, give each player a defined amount of time to take their best shot.
Tony,
Will there be a chance to sell out the team? I'm seeing a big pile of doubloons, and no rules for saying how may each player carries off with them. Is that intentional?
Because I can see the player who's in the spotlight being forced to choose between succeeding in their task (which gets them coins now), against failing (more coins for everyone later).
Just in case anyone was wondering (I know! You weren't! It's my narcissism) I've drifted off away from the contest, because it's all ... like ... work and stuff.
I'll probably do "X Marks the Spot" at some point, though. Just not in a single week. I'll let things stew for a while on the back burner. So many thanks to all involved for giving me another back-burner project.
No, seriously. No sarcasm. I'm one of those people who have unoccupied back burners. I pretty much had my main project and ... not much else. I'm happy to have something fun simmering. It's lonely back there.
That's too bad, Tony. I was looking forward to playing this one (soon).
Maybe you could try and make it a middle burner project instead of a back burner one?
