All actual gamers out there

Postby bal3000 » Tue May 09, 2006 5:17 am

I'm looking to take a head count here.
I'm a gamer and I love this site. I've downloaded some great game submissions in the last year and posted a few of my own. I look at every posted game and pass comment on what works for me.
BUT...We have over five hundred signed up members with about half of them posting about porno and valium and all kinds of crap.
Can all the actual gamers hold up their hands and let us know how they use and what they think of the site ?
I'd hate to see all the creativity swamped and lost beneath a mountain of spam.
Feel free to rummage through my stuff.......but remember, you get what you pay for!

Well I love it. An invaluable resource. Might need an overhaul but it's great.

I'm still adding to (although it took a pause while I got married).

There are quite a few people who visit the Game Chef topic.

Tell us about what you are working on in another thread, Bal, and I'll ask some questions. Let's generate a rappor!

Sounds cool.
Y'know, I've never actually visited the Game Chef topic in the year I've been signed up here.
I'll read thru some of the posts over the next few days before I'll post anything there.

Game Chef is a wacky idea. The ingredients are set and a game needs to be made around it. Some of them are just genius. Others are... well, so so.

Hey!

I've actually been working on a pen and paper system on and off since 1998. Recently, I've been putting it all into a move user-friendly format with a lot of explanations for small things that I never bothered to describe before. I've used the system in a campaign that I've run for 3 years now with some close friends. Everything has worked perfectly and I couldn't be more satisfied with how intuitive the gameplay is.

Anyway, I'm going to submit it here soon. I'm awaiting on a reply about turning docs into PDFs, and if everything else goes off without a hitch it should be available within one to two weeks.

I spend a great amount of time working on the game so I haven't done anything more than read but a few submissions. So, that's me.

Welcome Ruds!

I know how you feel about getting a long-running game into a state where it is ready for the wider audience - especially as you have been GMing it for so long. I guarantee that no matter how long you spend on it, people will always have more questions and they will find holes throughout.

I shouldn't worry about turning the document into a PDF. The best strategy is just to get it out there at first and then PDF up the tweaking and finished version.
