I made an Arthurian RPG

Postby xDungeonMasterx » Wed Feb 27, 2008 8:50 pm

I designed an Arthurian RPG, based off of Joe Pruitt's Adventurer RPG and once called Arthurian Adventurer RPG, now called Excalibur.

Funnily enough, I haven't done much Arthurian reading. I always found it rather stiff. I took the basic idea of divine right to the throne, and questioned whether it was right using the story of the game. Apparently my players believed in the legends and since Arthur drew the sword then he is the king.

But in Lost Legacy, apparently Arthur did not produce an heir (mixing the legend with the legend of Alexander the Great now) and though he was a magnificent king during his reign, his death caused his kingdom to splinter into minor fiefdoms. So, in truth, was he the right king for the job?

But for Arthurian reading, I read a few obscure stories that I have now forgotten the titles of. The once I can remember is the Merlin series, where apparently he is Merlyn and the sword is Caliburnus. I was young then and was very confused.

Arthur was a west country rebel who was used by successive rulers to give popular weight to their machiavellian schemes, have you thought of that angle?

Now video gamers have been seeking assistance in playing and conquering the games that they live for. This assistance is sometimes found online, from television shows, or printed cheat materials. Many of these items have successfully helped gamers achieve victory, but they cannot help with all games. The easiest way to find is to buy it. Similar to the above mentioned resources, purchasing is a great way for a player to enjoy and conquer the game.
