Free PDF Software

Postby Keeton » Fri Aug 07, 2009 11:25 am

Someone asked me today what software I use to make .pdf documents for the game submissions. There are plenty of them out there, but here's the one I use. It's free and simple to setup:

Open Office can also export to a PDF. I had problems with full page background with it, though.

Scribus, I'm told, is really good too:

I now use OpenOffice and Scribus, but back when I was using Windows I used PDF995 for all of my portable document format needs.

I use pdf995 if I'm forced to use Word, but find it unsatisfactory in terms of how the finished pdfs look. My preference is to use OpenOffice at the moment, and I'll cross Rob's bridge about full-page backgrounds when I come to it I guess...

Ooh, thanks for these links. I used to have OpenOffice on my old computer and used it to convert pdf's.
