I tried getting into The Casino and The Restaraunt after The Apprentice was so popular. Trouble is, they're all starting to look really staged and fake. I just got directv, so now I'm into an interesting show called startup.com about these guys trying to start an online business. So far it looks more real-life and less fakie drama.

Reality TV is a tool of Satan!!! Words cannot express how much I hate this genre. I was done with reality TV after the 3rd season of The Real World. 100% of everything I have seen is obviously faked to get the ratings. If someone is bad on the show, guess what!? They're on Leno or Conan the next night. I dunno, maybe I don't like these shows because they are full of people you just want to look at and say, "Were you born this way or did you have to work towards it?"

Yea, and all this from a guy who saw the first five seasons of Buffy and was a little sad to see it go... I guess we all have our vices.
Answers to life's biggest questions:
1) Yes it makes a sound! It's a F***ing Tree!!
2) The egg was first.
3) It's the sound of your fingers hitting your palm.

I just saw some show interviewing the girl that "joe millionaire" picked. She said that "joe" told her that the people at Fox told him to pick her. Not like that is a huge suprize or anything.....the fictitiousness of "reality" tv.

World of Sports

Postby jedivampire » Mon Jul 05, 2004 9:41 am

Football -- the preseason is just a few weeks away I can hardly wait. The big news has been with the Washington Redskins. New coach Joe Gibbs is retooling the team with veterans at the expense of trading away some young studs. The Cowboys have done a little signing of free agents but for the most part are content where they are now. Most people fear that they won't be as good this year as last year.

Basketball -- Everyone is waiting to see if LA will really trade away Shaq. He's demanding a trade, and there seems to be a few teams interested though only about 3 that could really afford them. The Mavericks have been named mostly as the possible destination of the big guy if LA does really trade him.

Baseball -- The baseball world is in shock that the Texas Rangers are still hanging around. They were in 1st place in the AL West at the end of June and right now only a half game back. This is their best run since the 1998 season. Hopefully they will hang on and make it to the playoffs for the first time in four years.

Hockey -- The Stars have been active signing free agents in hopes that there won't be a lock out, but everything still seems pointed in that direction. There doesn't seem to be any progress made at the bargaining table.

Cycling -- Lance Armstrong has begun his quest for a sixth Tour de France title, though he has been marred by allegations that he took performance enhancing drugs the last couple of years. There doesn't seem to be any real evidence and Lance has staunchly denied it, but the story hangs around.

I am just hoping that the Braves pick up the slack.
