Adventuria Online RPG reaches it's 150th page

Postby ErrinF » Thu Oct 21, 2010 3:05 pm

So my massive pen & paper solo fantasy rpg in e-book form over at RPGlaboratory.com has just surpassed it's 150th page! Here is the link to the game, which is called Adventuria Online RPG:

http://www.rpglaboratory.com/adventuria_online_rpg

For those of you unfamiliar, each page represents a different part of the magical land of Adventuria. As a solitary adventurer (warrior, wizard, thief, priest, elf, or dwarf), you explore the land in a turn by turn basis, with the game being open-ended enough for you to choose where you are going and exploring most of the time. The game itself only requires a pen, a paper, and two six-sided dice to play, as well as the ebook to read as you journey and adventure throughout the land.

The planned final goal of Adventuria ORPG is to have it be 222 pages. I've been working off and on developing the game for a few years now, and look forward to when it is all done. At 151 pages currently, the game is quite playable even if it is only about 68% complete. Of all the free RPGs I've created, Adventuria is by far my favorite, as it has taken on a life of it's own. I'm amazed I've gotten this far with it, but the game kind of writes itself given enough time and thought.

What I'd really like to figure out is how to promote the game better online so more people can check it out. If anybody has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

In the meantime, check out the game if you like and give it a play if you have the time. Enjoy!

Peace, Errin : )

I like the skeleton of the game, but I'm a fan of sci-fi or historical, not fantasy. I didn't realize that you were still updating it.

Thanks for your work on solo games.

How about checks at each location for random encounters, to prevent priests or wizards from constantly back-tracking to the city for scrolls?

The game just reached 175 pages today, and is a little over 75% complete. When I reach the planned 222 pages, then I'll be done. Until then, Adventuria ORPG is a fully functional game while being a work in progress.

There's pretty much random encounters at every location. The nature of a wizard or priest is to find ways to replenish their Spell supply. The cities are the most basic places to re-up, but there are plenty of other spots. Even then, a wizard or priest without a Spell is still formidable in Magical Combat. A lot of Adventuria ORPG is picking and choosing your battles wisely, and traversing the land safely. Survival is really a matter of knowing the right locations, particularly when it comes to one's Alignment.
