Yeah, I got his stuff done in time for the draft. Speaking of, what time is the draft exactly Mr. Paige. I keep checking because I thought it was today, but I have no players. Also, I see that you liked my team name idea about the spicers, that is almost copyright infringement as far as I'm concerned, you are lucky that that was not what I wanted my team to be called, otherwise you and I, we might have to throw down.
I have set the draft status to ready so we now have 3 days to make any draft board changes. As far as the even and odd goes, the Endorian Knights dropped out. It was a friend of mine from North Carolina who really didn't think he had the time to commit to it, but set up a team to help out in order to have even teams. When Jeremy opted in he asked if it was okay if he pulled out and so he did.
Get your game faces because the season is about to begin!
Can we petition the Beaners to change their name to the Endorian Knights? I hate to lose that name- and I dig the verismillitude of us all having Star Wars names... even if the movie was kind of crappy.
Looks to me that Jason and Anthony both had a strong draft. As did Cooper's Troopers and the Jedi Linemen... whom I do not know personally.
Overall, looks like every team focused in one position and is really strong there- with 2 or so other positions filled by a single standout and the rest... well, they are the rest.
My analysis:
The Wompas: Probably the best QB corps. Good WR. Nice D, too. They are quite top-heavy... which means I think their QBs and WRs will make or break this team. Though I think the D, if it is as strong as I think it might be... will be the little "umph" to get them past close games.
The Rancors: Good D. Probably the best D on paper, IMO. Fine QBs. Their WR and RB are a bit iffy though- too many 2nd and 3rd choices for offenses.
The Linemen: Solid RBs. Nice WR set. Good QBs. Overall, one of the better balanced teams. The D looks a little weak though- still, this is one of those teams I think will be a contender each week because they do not rely on one position for scoring. AKA- no BYE Week worries.
The Elitists: Another good D set. Okay RBs. This is probably the weakest draft... since a lot of key positions are filled by 2nd and 3rd choice offense guys. Still, one injury propels those guys into a position of prominence and suddenly, Jeremy looks like a genius. Sleeper team.
The Wookies: Very good (and deep) RBs. Also has a deep and solid WR set. Funny enough, good Ks. Another balanced team. Probably a good scoring team because of really solid RBs and WRs... meaning they do not need for much.
The Surviors: Good RBs and Good QBs. Going to be another top-heavy team, relying on its studs to produce every week (BYEs might be a problem). Still, this team has enough studs to get them through those nasty BYEs... a boom or bust type of team. Again, the D looks lie it might be good enough to push this team past others in close games.
The Beaners: Best RB corps... which makes them a big threat. They still have a crappy name, though. If their RBs stay healthy, the Beaners are going to be a solid threat to anyone they face. BYE weeks are going to really hurt this team- more than most.
The Troopers: Really, really good WR corps. Good RBs. Balanced team with a lot of scoring potential from the core positions. A real contender for the prize at this stage of the game.
The Spicers: Strong TE and excellent and deep D. Hard to gauge how tough they will be- but potentially one of those "thinker" teams. This team will live and die by good trades and prescient pick-ups.
The Guard: Good WRs. Good K. Other than that, a little lackluster everywhere else (especially at RB). A lot of untested mettle on this team meaning it is either going to do quite well, or force the owner to trade like mad.
I guess Yahoo was just as eager as the rest of us to get this draft underway. I was under the impression that we had 72 hours from the time that I set the draft to ready before the draft took place.
Thanks, Chris for your analysis.
Good luck to everyone this season and I apologize in advance for the cleat marks that I plan on leaving on everyone's back as I climb to the top. I'm especially looking forward to poking Anthony's quarterback in the eye when I sack him repeatedly!
