perhaps competitive rolling against the GM based upon will. you build up will through good role playing, investigative successes, and critically sucessful rolls. The winner of the GM-v-Player rolls dictates parts of the scene, which can give bonuses. Maybe like the ones in FATE, where you can tag an aspect of a scene to give you a plus 2 on a roll.

Yes, I am aware that failure to watch the last two is a crime against nature/cinema/geek-dom/humanity(circle one). I'm familiar with the Robin Hood mythos so that can probably stay despite not seeing that particular edition (the Mel Brooks one on the other hand...)

For the requisite film noir, I can suggest either "The Maltese Falcon" or "The African Queen". For the alien invasion "Independence Day", "The Day the Earth Stood Still", or perhaps a Godzilla film. "E.T." would also be an excellent choice - or perhaps "Jurassic Park" if we open up the definition to "alien species".

Maltese Falcon + Jurassic Park + E.T. - that would be interesting.

I prefer Dumbo over Dick Tracy, but I have seen both.

Who besides me thinks its funny to have "Star Wars" and the "Dam Busters" together. A to illustrate.

I would say that is an awesome list.

I've already go an idea that character ability should be based on if its made for TV or summer blockbuster level of production. How to do that and which films will take a while to decide.
