Module Repository

Postby trodgers » Tue May 31, 2011 4:31 pm

I'm looking to start collecting original RPG scenarios/modules/dungeons/adventures. Whatever you call them.

Ideally, they'll be sortable by genre, length, etc.
Doubly ideally, I'll have a universal form to them and I'll convert them to generic rules.

I am well aware that there are sites out there that collect dungeons, but I'd like something that receives unique submissions, a sort of online equivalent to the old Dungeon Magazine (which, I take it, still exists; but I haven't perused it in years).

Any suggestions, feel free to post here. I'm likely to post them at my brand new blog: pbtrpg.wordpress.com

Best,

Travis

Cool idea! Will you be offering a review or short precis of each module/scenario etc?

Also, something I found with the free rpg blog is to get your categorisation sorted out a priori else you get yourself into a hole that is a lot of work to dig out of.

I vote for it, it sounds like a solid enough plan, I don't see any major roadblocks. Maybe have another sort for free generic and free specific so you can include good material that either you haven't had time to modify to make generic or cannot be made generic because of some story element but is still worthy of keeping.

You need to blat a load of content up there pronto, though. Other people will donate if they see that there is content there first. :)

Good ideas.

Rob, I'd love to have a somewhat standardized format, and I'm happy to offer precis/reviews of the modules.

A priori sorting is a good idea. How about a better idea: what are the categories? :)

And I've worked up a few modules in my day. I'll hunt some down and get some posted to get the ball rolling.

If you want some categories to start with, please check out the free rpg directory I put up on delicious: http://www.delicious.com/thefreerpgblog

That'll at least give you genre styles. From, there you need to decide on taxon for classifying types of module. For scale of the module, you could have (descending): mythic/epic/national/local/personal.
