So what have you been up to this summer?

Postby Onix » Fri Aug 19, 2011 5:59 pm

I just got back from a week and a half vacation that included GenCon and exploring the in the world! (I love caves, you have no idea.)

Other than that, I've been trying to keep up with a post a day for the ol' blog. I'm whuped! I'm starting to run out of ideas. Okay maybe not, just out of new and original stuff. I need to build up some diversity to keep things interesting.

Um, I've been working on and off, fixing tractors, farm implements, saving towns from being engulfed in their own sewage (no really!), driving big vehicles around. It's been pretty terrifying to be honest. Me and the wife always joke that I never do the same job twice, well let me tell you, it's getting weird (and not necessarily in a good way).

There's more, I just have to take a shower. I'm covered in grease, diesel exhaust and welding fumes.

Well, I'm in Arizona so it's hot as hell (well, 100 degrees Fahrenheit or more), and I just started classes for college. I spent most of summer playing Minecraft and telling myself I'd finish (or release) Orchestra before school, and in the final week or so it mostly came together as a result of frantic ignoring all things video game and sleep deprivation.

I wish I was in Arizona, I'm in south east Texas and we are having a record breaking drought and heat wave. Besides working (indoors thankfully) I still keep working on the Red Ash System and just finished adding rules for class feats and I also added pathogen rules and I did some cleanup to the skills. I still need to go over the species powers and clean them up, take one final look at equipment and then I think I can finally turn my attention to making the first free Red Ash campaign.

I also figured out how my online system will be formed and will begin making mock ups of screens and application flow.

Tried out a fairly huge number of table-top games... Smallworld was one of the best.

See, I really liked what I've read from Smallville, because it's actually not a lot like the other MW games at all. Sure it uses the Cortex system, but it's got that relationship map which is great because that's what the show was about. I know I picked up Leverage at Origins and loved what they did with the system.

This summer I did the standards. Con season, and finished the draft for Critical!: Go Westerly. The art should be done by November, and I promised myself I wouldn't harass the artist about the art until the beginning of the month.
I also do which isn't much, but it's enough for me.
