eStores - feedback and experiences please!

Postby Rob Lang » Mon Jul 16, 2012 4:40 am

I'm setting up an eStore for Philanthropists, to sell T-Shirts and to raise cash for prizes in competitions and the Golden Banana.

I've used for T-Shirts and I know a few that use for general merchandise and T-Shirts. Zazzle would be my default choice.

Have you used these recently? Good/bad experiences?

I played with Cafe Press but never really did anything with it. I can't imagine there being much difference though. Spreadshirt apparently has a UK and a US site, I don't know if their offerings are available across both. The website must read weather.com cookies because it instantly asked me if I wanted the US site. (I guess it could figure it out from IPs but that would take a lookup and would delay the process.) I liked the Mr Bean shirts better than the presidential shirts anyway. Point being, if they only offer UK shirts to UK users than it may redirect people and cause confusion.

LOL, if you must! I've started uploading graphics but I think the T-Shirts are a bit pricey: $23 for a single print and $31 for front-and-back. Does that sound expensive to you? Does to me!

I haven't played with the settings enough yet, so I might have been doing something wrong.

I would prefer the 15-20 dollar range for a T-shirt, but as a one time purchase to support our community, I could live with the given prices. Not long ago I got a shipment from a place called "Six Dollar Shirts", but that is a pretty low target, Northern Sun and Snorg Ts are about $22 and $15 a shirt respectively. I'm not sure how you got to $31 without multiple colors and images - or are the shirts just that spectacular?

Well, thanks for taking the time to do this, I plan of acquiring one no matter the final price.

£23 is a single front print, full colour.
£31 is a front and back print, full colour.

I'm going to investigate some more, this seems a touch more expensive than I was planning.
