The Latest Buzz

Postby jedivampire » Tue Sep 21, 2004 6:46 pm

Doom -- The latest buzz on Doom is that The Rock is still interested and that they (Universal) are also talking to Karl Urban (of LOTR & Bourne Supremacy fame). Still no release date (obviously if they haven't agreed upon a cast yet).

The Green Hornet -- It does look like Kevin Smith will pull out as director but remain as writer and perhaps producer. Jake Gyllenhaal is apparently in talks with Miramax -- though what character is unknown. It is doubtful he is auditioning for the part of Britt Reid, but you never know.

Nikki told me that it has almost positively been confirmed that they will begin works on the next X-files very soon.

Well, the Doom movie has been on the block for like, what? 8 years now. I remember when Doom 2 came out there was a lot of talk about a movie based on that game.

Still, neat idea. I never got to play Doom 3- but the story seems pretty straight forward.

The store was decent for a doom game. It comes nowhere near that of Halo or HL2 though. The biggest problem with Doom 3 is that it is so repetitive. The lighting and the sound keep it scary... but the gameplay becomes monotonous (sp?) half way through. Still... solid game overall.

repeating is something that all game have problems with.....not too many ways to shoot people. Half life 2 isnt much better than doom3....instead of just shooting people, you shoot.....drive....unlock a gate.....shoot....drive.....unlock a gate.....shoot ....drive....unlock a gate.....etc...i hope it switches things up later in the game.

HL:2 graphics arent as good either, mostly due to poor textures i think. exept for the jail area right after you get the "bugbait".....ill give that a score of 10.

I dont know what game Patrick was playing because I thought that Half-Life 2 had amazing graphics. They were definitley better than most games out. I finally be able to play my copy of the game now that I have the internet connected to my house.
