So I'm looking over and Older idea of mine, the one that lead to me finding the 1km1kt site, and decided to brush off the dust and keep going. As I look over what I have I truly wish I had someone to read over what I have and give a few opinions.
I keep wondering if we have need to start a network of people to read over and help with fledgling games. I know art and layout is always a sticking point (or whining point ) but the basic text still needs to be looked after..
thoughts?

What is the subject of said idea? That might help people know if they'd be interested.
My network of people are my family and friends. None of them are writers or want to be (except my daughter and son but they're in training) so they don't offer expert advice but point out glaring typos.
I can offer some tips on layout. If I'm into the subject, then I could offer some art.
My big thing is transmitting the idea. I'm really very poor at it but I've been researching the topic and finding some cool information that fills in the gaps for me. Now I just have to learn to do the things that are instructing me.
funny enough I wrote this to find out if other feel the same about a larger help network. The game I'm reworking is an attempt to make game that recreates early video rpgs (final fantasy 1-6, dragon quest, etc.) as table top rpg.

It does highlight the need for a large enough sample of people that have a range of interests since, if no one was interested, in the subject, getting help will be difficult.
I tried joining a group like you're suggesting in 2011. There was a decent group, and everyone seemed ready to work together. We called ourselves Hydra and people even made up a logo. There was a website and a message board for coordinating projects. Most people in the group were only interested in OSR, and that was fine with me. I figured I'd do my thing and see if anyone wanted to join in. That was when I wrote Steampunkfitters. A couple of months later, three or four of them got an adventure module together and proclaimed it was the first product from the collective. That teed me off. Anyway, for some reason the group that did the adventure ran off on their own to publish it. The site just died after that.
Erm. Well, that doesn't have a whole lot to do with what you're suggesting other than a cautionary tale. There was about thirty or so members and involvement was really patchy.
Now, here's a thought, I wonder how useful a service like Uniiverse would perform for asking for help. I'm thinking specifically about looking for someone who does 8-bit art.
I'd be willing to look over what you have. I'm a huge fan of the early Final Fantasies (and some of the later ones). Or, if this thread is more about a general network of people than that game specifically, I'm interested in helping out with that as well.
PeckishGamer: I'm still rereading it my self and wondering if before I more on I should remove some of the (at least what looks like to me) pointless and distracting humor... but yes It was more about the networking!!
