How many projects do you have on the go at the moment?

I seem to have about a million online projects on the go...

Finishing the final corrections to my PhD Thesis (99%)
Icar Elements v3.5 (10%)
Icar Special Forces Setting v1 (40%)
Icar Star Enforcer Setting v1 (40%)
Icar Technology Book v2 (25%)
Icar Expeditionary Setting v1 (50%) - am actually running this
Redesign of Icar website (60% but I don't like the design)
Website for my uncle (10%)
Running storyline at the Desert Realm (60%)
Running Icar: Chom Isis 2 web game (starts Monday 14th)
Writing Icar Online (5%?)
Writing Chom Isis 3 (5%)
Setting up Clan website for our [CAKE] clan. (10%)

What have you got going?

I have:

Spearpoint: Spycraft set in the Roman empire of 72Ad (about 33%).

Disorder: My first Sci-fi novel (about 50% done, though it is on hold for spearpoint)

German: I am learning basic German for the fun of it.

Bangla: I am still learning bengali as part of my job.

I have a bad tendancy to get in over my head with projects, lose interest, and then move on. I am specifically trying to avoid that with Disorder and Spearpoint and am taking my time to try and do them right.

Oh, and Rob? I can't lend a whole lot of support- but if you would like an extra writer or editor for ICAR, feel free to drop me a line. I sometimes need a break from what I am writing on to make sure I stay interested in my current projects- and I always love getting to play around in someone else's sandbox (so to speak).

I like ICAR a good deal and would love to help you out with it.

Wow, that's great of you, Sir!

The things I like from people who like the game are reviews. Not very long and utterly honest (it's bloody hard to find X or Y is missing but it looks pretty) are the way to go. There are too many paid or false reviews out there that paint a ridiculous and rosey picture. I hate those. Then post it everywhere. A nice chap called Kinslayer did a review and it was fair, honest and wonderful to read. He then posted it everywhere. Really knocked my socks off. Just put "Icar Rpg Review" into Google and see what I mean.

I'm good with big projects. I tend to get them done eventually but I do prefer to have 4 or 5 things on the go at the same time. Ever since I started my PhD, I've been this way - nothing is too big. I'd probably get things done much faster if I worked on only one things at a time but that's not me.

Any chance of a glimpse of a bit of the novel? ;)

Attention broken up fairly unevenly between...

1. RPG based in a world influenced by the works of Edward Gorey, Tim Burton, Jhonen Vasquez and Lemony Snicket tentatively called "Penny Dreadful". Focus on playing children in really bad situations. Bleak humor. Concept/development phase.

2. Cyberstick supplement for Stickguy with heavily customized rules. Concept/development phase.

3. Resource-oriented/variable TN generic RPG (from discussion here). Concept/development phase.

4. Post-apcalyptic/science-fantasy setting called "Cola Wars" using TWERPS rules-set (heavily modified). Tweaking/playtesting phase.

5. Table-top rules supplement for Sean Whipfli's "Dead Meat" zombie rpg (which may or may not even be available online anymore). Tweaking/playtesting phase.

6. Non-collectible muli-player zombie card game "Dead at the Door". Tweaking/playtesting phase.

7. "Black Knight" - simple strategy board game with random elements. Tweaking/playtesting phase.

One other thing I am doing is waiting in the wings for this online game:



Basically, the game is going to be a massive strategic-level Battletech game. The guy writing the code is a very good friend of mine and I am eagerly anticipating his final touches on the code. With luck, it will launch in a month or so and new features will be added as we work out the kinks of the core rules.

Really nifty looking game. If you are at all interested in Battletech or big strategic games- this might be the way to go.

Griff, it's great to see that someone else has lots of irons in the fire! There's definitely a Zombie slant to your interest. I'm surprised you didn't do ZombieStick. ;)

Chris, I can point to loads of different places but RPG.NET is certainly a fab start. Many thanks!

Although I prefer to read the whole story, you've wetted my appetite for a teaser now, so I would like to petition for one! Just post it up so I can have a read, that would be smashing.

Well, there were already zombies in the game...but...hey...wait a tick...

There were pirates already too, and you expanded on that nicely...

Now why could I not see such an obvious....*exasperated sigh* :roll:
