I must admit I am rather excited to see how this goes - I may put myself through a little 24 hour rpg just to get some stuff and to work through Robs amazing blog posts on writing a free rpg.

I had an idea for a sci-fi post-apocalyptic game called "The Gods Left Them" inspired by Earthdawn.

While I don't actually have any of the files written up (HUE HUE HUE) I've got a dice roll calculator for it written up; its mechanics operate differently from Earthdawn (no modifiers; if you suck you don't get anything, but we allow d4-d12 and round down, so you only "suck" on a rating of 1).



To do: Actually roll dice.
EDIT: For some reason I had the darnedest time getting the .pl file to sit happily on my server, so you have to get it as a .zip instead. This may have to do with having a server that can run Perl.

I've got about 5000 words written up on The Gods Left Them, which will be a narrative freeform post-apocalyptic game. It's built around the notion that characters write a fair deal of their lifepath in play in the form of Lifestyles and Sects (some characters may even found their own Sects to get mechanical bonuses), with characters Level being more a measure of being well-rounded than specialized in a certain path (essentially the Anti-d20 in that characters at Level 1 will be much less capable of comparing equally to other Level 1 characters, but by Level 20 they may have achieved a fair deal in everything out there; especially those who choose the more flexible Lifestyles [14/24 Aptitudes increased, as opposed to Sects, which increase 10/23, 13/19, or 14/19]).
