A question about runescape

Postby flamyngo » Thu Mar 17, 2005 5:47 pm

Hi guys! I am the Juicetyger's wife for those of you who don't know. I had a friend ask me eariler today if I would find out about a game her child was hooked on online. Her 14 child is loving runescape, and she just wanted me to see if I could get some general info about it, and find out from real people if it was an appropriate game for her son to be playing. :)

All opinions and feedback are welcome here! Just let me know anything you know about it!

Thanks!
Have a Nice Day and Watch Out for the Big Yellow Chicken!!!

Its a very nifty wargame put out by Hasbro. I am sure they have some info on their website. I have some online friends who swear by the game- it is oriented to be simple, but they say that it has a depth of gameplay that is fantastic... and the minis are supposed to be very neat.

Jamie- have Keet explain Warhammer to you. It is a lot like Warhammer but with the violent aspects toned down significantly. If I had a kid and he wanted to play Heroscape- I would be quite pleased. One thing that is really nice about it is that the game has a very limited "collection" aspect to it. In other words, unlike the collectible card games this is more a traditional mini game and should require only limited investment once-in-a-while to keep someone happy with their force.

All in all, no worse than the Pokemon card game and significantly cheaper.

Crap. I saw "runescape" and read "heroscape."

Sorry Jamie- I got nothing on Runescape. If it is a computer game- get ahold of Jason. He's supposed to know those types of things.

As I recall Runescapes a mmorpg. A fairly cute and harmless one from the limited amount of time I've ever invested in thegame. It's shock wave flash or java software and free. A friends teenage son got me to play it once. It was a very indepth game. And the graphics where good, but again I say, cute. The community of the game seemed friendly and comical. The humor was often sophmoric.

ah, I hope this is the same game that is in question. Just look it up. all the software downloads quickly. There where many servers at the time I played. the game seemed to be populated mainly by kids. Ah, kids being "high school kids" in this case.

back to the drawing board. p.s. Ron White is my new hero!

Runescape is a massive multiplayer game, much like Everquest. Except with really bad graphics. It has wizards and dragons and monsters and sword wielding heroes like any other fantasy world. The community, as stated previously, is mostly teenagers. This is because the game is free. The community isn't as closely monitored as other MMO's, but there really isn't any danger of anything more than a little bad language.

yes, the graphics really are bad. When I said they are good I meant good for a free game. But If I say good and cute then I'm just being nice. So in the future, good+cute = bad. lol
