Droid Mk6 (Pod) preview

looking a little too much like a WH40K drop pod, I've finally finished the pod! The blog entry will be going up on Tuesday 6th, here's a sneak peek.



The shell of the pod is a series of rings that are jettisoned as it approaches the surface of wherever it is attacking. Once it "lands" (impacts) all that is left is on the right.

Looks like you're really getting good with some more complex renders! I like the two views, the outer egg and the payload give a much better idea of it's use and purpose.

Thank you! Once I had decided what it was to look like, getting into rendered form wasn't too difficult.

Ooo, nice, wouldn't like to face it as an enemy...

"Transforming" droids always creep me out.
(Must be the psychological trauma the "droideka" caused me in a Star Wars Phantom Menace video game... brrr)

Thank you, ES. The egg is really just a shell (see what I did there). I'll do some more scenes and render when I have a better smattering of models. I need to do one for the front cover, for a start!
