Having to withdraw...

Postby Gaerik » Mon May 23, 2005 6:04 am

I got the ingredients on Friday night and was totally stoked! Mike, the idea of Rules Limitations was genius. I had a pretty cool dice mechanic that used both the Color limitation and the Tells You 3 Things limitation and was pretty excited. That's when I made the mistake of consulting my Day Planner (aka My Wife). She gently reminded me that I had promised to do a metric shit-ton of video editing for a graduation banquet and I had also promised to create and publish her dance studio website this week. Thus, I will be video editing and HTML coding every night this week. *Le Sigh* It looks as if I will have to wait until next year before participating because I refuse to submit something that sucks due to my lack of time to spend on it. I will follow the contest closely though! Good luck to everyone!

Mike, will this contest be during the same time frame next year? How far in advance is it generally announced? A bit of advanced notice would allow me to make sure that my extra-curricular calendar is clear.

You can always particpate late!

If you've got a great idea, work on it whenever you can.

The entire point of the contest is not to proclaim a winner but to get as many people involved in making games they LIKE.

So, if it takes you longer, so what. Enjoy yourself and do this when you can, even if you can't participate in the actual "contest".
We know what we know because someone told us it was so.
