Welcome to the Motherland!

Postby nyarly » Wed May 25, 2005 2:17 pm

Yes, welcome, workers of the world, to our glorious Motherland! Here, all people are equal, and the Spectres of Capitolism and Classism are defeated!

Worker's Paradise
Roleplaying in a Stalinist State that Never Was

Worker's Paradise is set in a fictional Balkan nation, inspired strongly by Stalin's Russia between 1930-1950. Collectivized vineyards sprawl across a green countryside, growing the grapes that will be crushed by the feet of working people into the sweet Wine of Victory. The Motherland is prosperous, and all who live within Her borders are Equal, Wantless, and Content.

Oh, if only it were truly so, my Companions in the Cause! There are those who would exploit there fellows for their own gain. In order to combat these Enemies of the Worker, the General Secretary, the Leader of the People, has established the People's Police Commissariat. The Commisariat employs Companions such as yourself as Commisars, individuals nearly invulnerable in a literal and political sense to police the Motherland, searching out and exposing the Enemies of the People.

Commisars must be dilligent. Theirs is a sacred trust. Since the issuance of Order Number 00447, they are charged to investigate in a "speedy and simplified way" all accusations judged valid by the Regional Triumvirate Prosecutor, and return to him the results of their investigations.

Rejoice, since as each Enemy of the Proletariat you hand over is detained in a Correctional Labor Camp, the party will increase your Loyalty Rating. Take solace in the chitin armor you are given, lightweight and as hard as steel, as hard as the resolve of the Workers to overcome their oppressors. Be assured of the information that can be collected by the specially bred bees and centipedes that your training as a State Entomologist will allow you order and understand when they report back the conversations of the suspects you have assigned them to. Last, relax in the surety that while other Companions in the Cause may be accused of misdeeds, from murder to speaking against the Party, or even failure to report such misdeeds, as a Commisar you are above suspicion. Unless, of course, your accusor is another Commisar!

Greetings, Companion, and enjoy your tenure as a Commisar!
