The concept's a great idea, but I think the game's going to be made or broken by its rules. Good luck with that one, I think if you can get the rules to support the concept adequately without becoming over-complicated, vague or ridiculously artsy (a little artsy never hurts, but too much of a bad thing...) I think this one could be a real winner.

I'm here to chew bubblegum and win the Game Chef prize. And I'm all out of gum.

I've done some game design work with nodes & networks (in "We All Had Names", and one or two Norwegian games).

I strongly suggest that you sketch out a few networks and test them out even with the rudimentary rules you have now; strengths and weaknesses of the system will become apparent very quickly once you see it in drawing.

I hope you can post some sketches as you work with the design.

I'm assuming there will be graphical examples in the final version?

First, thanks again to everyone for your input.

I've put together a rough draft PDF of what I have so far, including the four maps I managed to cobble together in Visio. It came out to quite a bit (16 pages, 2.19MB).

If anyone's interested, I've got the URL below.

I'd *greatly* appreciate any feedback anyone can give me, especially regarding how clear the rules make the system and anything I can do to make it less intimidating/complicated as a whole. I've tried simplifying the game as much as possible, but it still looks somewhat overwhelming.

Thanks again!
