(Blurb) The Holmes and Watson Committee

Postby Troy_Costisick » Tue Mar 21, 2006 8:33 am

The Holmes and Watson Committee is an attempt to capture the player-driven mystery fun of INspectres, mate that with the lore of Sherlock Holmes, and produce a non-supernatural mystery game that evokes creativity, deduction, and great storytelling by all the participants. While not an ode to the canon Sherlock Holmes, this game brings the romance and grit of Victorian London to the players through the conduit of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s writings. Villains, locations, and items mentioned in his works are interwoven into the game’s mechanics so the players get the chance to tell their own stories involving the enemies and atmospheres of the great sleuth’s escapades. GMs are provided with tools to create difficult enemies and hazardous situations for the players to overcome. While the story will be player-driven, he is not left out. There are several modes where the players can involve the GM in creating and presenting clues for the case. It is truly a collaborative effort by all the participants and a very rewarding one. If you are looking for a game that encourages creativity and empowers the players to take control of the story, then The Holmes and Watson Committee just might fit the bill.

Peace,
