Lets just say the first time I saw NY all I could think was " I'm in gothom city " and that feeling has never left me.
It makes every other city , to my mind, look like it's pretending to be a city.
It manages to be everything and nothing that you see on TV all at once. It has culture and vulgarity in equal doses. It's a city that lives it's pride.
In short, if you get a chance, go and visit. It's incredably easy to get around for a city of it's size.
