This game actually started as just a way to have quick battles with my friends when we didn't want to sit down for a lengthy 12 hour game of some hardcore role-playing. It started out with just a Fighter, Mage, Cleric and Thief. Fun, huh? Well, look what it's become. This game is just an example of what's to come. There's more mobs, monsters, undead, dragons, heroes with powers and gadgets, space ships with missiles and cannons, campaign rules and even "BATTLES: Advanced" with races, terrain and item cards to enhance everything about the game. These ideas are just in a conceptual stages, but if the game takes off, the sky's the limit. Hope you like it!
There is an update that hasn't been posted yet. The update clarifies Level Points, Icons, and a new and an updated Rank system. I, personally, like the new Rank system better. I also put the definitions in a more comprehensive format. At first glance, you would think it was a whole new game, but the core system hasn't changed and the Mobs are still the same. All-in-all, I think it's a better game.
Just for your information, setting up a game can be really, really easy. Just play 10 Melee Points (Rank Commander) for all your Mobs and 10 Level Points for each Mob. Rolling makes the game interesting, but can be time consuming. Even though you don't roll, the game is really fun this way and it's the way me and my friends usually play.
The admins have posted the revision for BATTLES: WOL. While the changes are few, they are pretty profound in the way you roll up character and play the game. Like I said in the last post, you don't need to go through the whole pre-game process besides actually building your Mobs from the Level Points you and your partner choose. I would have liked to provide graphic representations of the Rank Cards, which would be really cool art with the Rank Number on it, but I can hardly draw stick figures. If anyone out there wants to draw up Rank Cards, I would be happy to post them. Thank you for all the support and have a happy BATTLE.
