Format for Game submissions

Postby Technomancer » Wed Oct 25, 2006 9:29 am

Hi, fairly new around here. I was inspired by the one-page rpgs and felt like trying my hand at it. I had a question about the submission guidelines, specifically the format. I saw what types of files are ok, but nothing about page margins. My rpg is in .doc format and has page margins of .75" at the top and bottom and .5" on the sides. Is that going to be a problem?

Welcome to 1km1kt.net, please enjoy your stay.

I'm not our central authority, but as I recall, PDF format is preferred but not necessary. Its readable by more computers, and holds all the formatting information within the document.

As far as page format is concerned - its your call. I think half an inch is about the minimum you can have on the sides if you want to print it - though that varies by machine. College papers were generally one inch all around.

To quote the "A Pocket Style Manual" third edition, by Dianna Hacker the margins required by the modern language association are "...at least one inch but no more than an inch and a half on all sides of the page. Do not justify the right margin." (Page 138)

And as a graduate with a degree in English and Creative writing let me say one thing: "Be clear, don't mind the minutiae, and have fun."

Thanks for the advice. I normally would have made it an inch all around, but I had to decrease the margins to make it fit on one page.

Right justification has been removed per your advice.

I'd love to make it a pdf but I don't know how to do it.

Personally, I use Open Office. Its free, highly customizable, does everything MS Office does and then some, and can create PDFs with the click of an icon. I've heard claims that it does some things even better than its commercial counterparts, but I have an older version, and don't use a lot of the macros myself. Check OpenOffice.org. </advertisement> ;)

There should be other free services that make PDFs. I've got the actual Adobe Acrobat Writer suite, and its not as useful as you think. Pretty much, it just lets you annotate and add virtual post it notes to the document.

Soon he placed his cock head at my sphincter and said "it's time." Slowly he pushed forward until the head popped beyond the sphincter. Then he stopped to let me relax. After a few seconds of adjustment I started to slowly push back onto him. It was incredible!!!! He reached around and started to play with my clit - I saw and came continuously!!! When he came I could feel him swell and spurt into my ass.
