1980 was the year.
I was 8 years old at the time and probably the youngest gamer ever in Italy.
We played D&D and Traveller with my brother and my cousin (13 yrs old at the time).
We came upon because they were avid wargamers, till one day an american-italian friend of my cousin brought back from the states some tattered photocopies of D&D and Traveller.
Oh... the number of times I died are countless yet the fun was endless!!!!
The rest, as they say, is history.

At the debate christmas party
I was in the 10th Grade
Karl Mumm was the GM that night.
He was 2 years older I think. a few years.
Like 4 of us, using the original White Box verion
I chose to play a thief
No idea why, I think we all had a different class
Well walking through the woods
a cave
I explored it
Blast of fire out of it marked my first dead Player Character on the receiving end of a Red Dragon
Only time I ever played with Karl too btw.
That was December of 1977

Don't contribute much to the site because I really don't have that many inspiring ideas, and most of you-all are doing such an incredible job of creating games. But definitely think I'm a "real" gamer. Been playing wargames since the early '60s, was introduced to rpgs in late 1975, have a room of the house devoted to where-I-keep-my-games-and-assemble-those-I-find-on-line.

I'm the creator of Agyris (agyris.net) and the ultimate game table, so I guess I can geek out with the geekiest of them. I've seen the site before, but stopped in to add my own spam.
