as far as i can tell SNL is doing pretty well. I have caught the end of a couple shows and they were pretty good. Most of the recent interest in the show i think is because of their hosts. They had Janit Jackson not too far after she was at the superbowl, and they had paris hilton recently too (after her video).

I don't watch TV much but I used to like SNL alot. I guess I need to get back into watching it.
