What are you working on? An Autumn Round-Up

Postby Rob Lang » Tue Sep 30, 2008 8:56 am

Got anything in the works RPG wise?

I am still working on , now producing a new version with black and white insides and a full colour cover. The aim is to bind everything you need to play in a single, free PDF and then upload it to (or similar) for those who can't be bothered to print and bind themselves. Converting the images across from a low-res 72DPI to either vector or high res 300DPI is remarkably complicated, so it is going to take some time.

I've had some great feedback from people when I ran Icar at GenCon UK 2008 and the single book was at the top of the list. Some of the other feedback was very supportive and I hope that with the next revision of the book, I can get some of the quick-fast-deadly roleplay ideas in there. Bits get blown off a lot in Icar but that's ok. I need to get that over in the books.

I am also thinking of starting a free RPG blog, which I'll post more about in the future.

What are you working on? Improving anything you've written or ploughing into something new? Tell all!

Hey Rob, good to hear that ICAR did well when played "live". What's Gencon UK like BTW? Was there much work involved in getting a session up and running at it?

Neuicon, I'm about to download IPTC and looking forward to running through it.

I'm working on two games at the mo. The first is an urban "low" fantasy of action and the quest for ancient forgotten magical devices (I'm thinking a medieval Indiana Jones).

The second assumes that sorcerers exist, that they use their power to rule over ordinary people and that they are constantly engaged in a multi-dimensional struggle agiant each other.

The trick is that both games will use the same basic rules to achieve two very different styles of play...

..I hope :)

neuicon, that sounds like a lot of paid works there. Anything free in the neuicon cupboard?

Bal, it went really well. I think that you don't really need much preparation to run something. If you know the system well and don't mind writing a one-off adventure then it's quite quick. As long as you follow some then you should find it plain sailing.

Bal: Are those games going to be freebies, PDF publish or book-publish?

neuicon and bal, I think I might be doing some reviewing of your games in my up and coming blog.

I really like the Hellstorm Studios site. It's tip top. I'm glad you've made 1KM1KT your home neuicon. :)
