MARKS

This is a (so far) generic system (character generation and resolution system)that attempts to be a storytelling tool as much as a game. I’ve taken/liberated/borrowed many of the ideas I’ve seen in newer story-oriented games and tried to combine them with a bit of old-school magic. I have no idea if it is a successful combination, however; that’s where you come in… This is a work in progress, obviously, and created in a bit of a vacuum, so any constructive feedback is greatly appreciated.

Looks like a great start. I also have difficulty finding playtesters but I’ll look it over and try to give some feedback.

    Oh, I get it.

The karma thing threw me for a loop for a bit, but I think I understand how it works now. Players who roll worth crap, who would normally gripe, now have a chance to do something good with the roll, take it gracefully, and earn some karma. And characters who are totally outclassed but try anyway, plucky little guys, are rewarded, because they will probably keep their entire dice pool, as long as it’s under 5, but the GM can toss out the 1s in the resistance pool, giving the hero who faced defeat, disgrace or failure bravely a karma point or two.

    Hi, just skimmed your work.
I think its a nice system. But come to think of it, I miss the setting. Really a setting makes it come alive. Maybe to insert some quotes of different kinds of settings, make it come more alive.

About story. I think that the weakness of a hero really is the exciting piece of a story. Weaknesseses can be a thing to overcome,to be chalanged, or where real curage is shown. Your definition is too much static in my oppinion.
The maximum of 5 dice I did’nt get this. However maybe I read it too quickly.
